Maintaining your model ship

Our model ships will hold up well in most, if not all conditions. Our plank-on-frame construction, and additional epoxy coating for yacht models, creates a hull which is extremely resilient and resistant to any environmental conditions, and will ensure you can enjoy your model for decades, if not generations. Placing a model in direct sunlight should be avoided, even simply to keep some of the colours from fading.

If your model ship does become dusty, try a hairdryer on cold to blow off loose dust. Make-up brushes are ideal for reaching harder to clean spots and areas, they're of just the right consistency. They are not hard enough to break details but still get to the dirt and dust.

Acrylic and glass display covers should be cleaned with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaning agent, cleaning solutions for big screen TV's work very well. More about ship model displays and display lighting can be found in our Model Display Recommendations section.
